The working group industrial water met to current topics for a long time for the first time again in presence and/or in "hybrid" form. 12 visitors were live on site, further participants were connected via internet. Dr. Gerd Sagawe, as head of the working group, and Julia Braune, managing director of GWP e.V., together with Matthias Kremer, head of JUMO industry management, opened the meeting in the Morgensternhaus. This was preceded by a networking evening in a Fulda pub with a guided tour of the city by Matthias Kremer.

Important topics of the meeting were the initiatives of the Russian government to improve the water quality in the Volga region and Lake Baikal. For this the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce was present with a lecture.

Insights into the complex water treatment of a paper mill were given by the responsible manager for environmental and health Astrid Umana and the production manager Phillip Katz of the paper mill Adolf Jass GmbH from the neighborhood of JUMO GmbH & Co. KG.

The "Industry Compendium on Water/Wastewater," sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Science and produced by the working group and GWP members, is about to be published internationally. Focusing on the MENA region and India, the GWP shows the range of possible solutions and expertise of the participating companies in this 120-page publication.

JUMO is contributing to this compendium with a paper on optimizing zinc recovery in India. The optimum pH value is constantly under control in the wet-chemical production process with a JUMO system solution, ensuring reduced chemical use and the best yield. The compendium will be published in English, French, German, and Arabic. There will also be an accessible version in Braille.
